Scholarship for Excellence |General Scholarships

The PEGNL Engineering and Geoscience Scholarships is awarded to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador who have completed high school in this province and are attending Memorial University in an engineering or an earth science program.  Engineering students must be enrolled in Term 1 or higher and earth science students must be enrolled in year 3 or higher of an honours earth science degree program.

 Selection criteria include:

-   High academic standing in high school or university courses;

-   High standing in the language of his/her high school education;

-   Financial need.  

Scholarship for Excellence

The Scholarship For Excellence will be in the amount of $5000 annually and may be renewed for one year based on continuing high scholastic achievement.  Additional selection criteria include:

-   Adequate ability/performance in a second language (either English, French or a Native Aboriginal language of Newfoundland and Labrador );

-   Demonstrated qualities of leadership and performance in sports, public speaking or related activities;

PEGNL General Scholarships
The PEGNL General Scholarships will be in the amount of $2500.00 each, with at least one being presented to an engineering student and one to an earth science student.
