The deadline for Annual Dues is January 15. Following this date, a 15% penalty will be imposed.

New Applicant Information

Fees to accompany new applications for membership:

  • Professional Member Application/Transfer Fee only.
  • Member-in-Training Application/Transfer Fee only.
  • License to Practice Application/Transfer Fee, Annual Dues, Professional Seal.
  • Permit to Practice Application/Transfer Fee, Annual Dues appropriate for the number of disciplines requested, Professional Seal.

License Renewal Information

  • Database Update Appearing on the invoice form is the latest data on file regarding your membership. Please review this information and make any corrections or additions on the return copies of this form.
  • Professional Development Registration renewal is contingent upon compliance with PEGNL's Professional Development Program which requires that you file a record of the previous year's activities. A PDP Report Form is available on PEGNL's website along with the current PDP Guidelines.
  • Fees Payable The application/transfer fee/annual dues of members are payable on or before January 15, 2010. Please note that no other invoice will be issued. An assessment of 15% of fees payable will be charged on January 16, 2010 and a registered letter will be sent giving a further 30 days notice of removal for non-payment. Reinstatement after the current year will require payment of the current application fee of $220.
  • Harmonized Sales Tax The Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) of 13% is applicable to all PEGNL fees and services and is refundable from Revenue Canada for individuals as well as companies. Most members who pay their own fees can claim a full HST refund as an employment expense on their income tax return. Tax rebate forms will be enclosed with your registration fee receipt.
  • Payment with Visa, MasterCard or Amex For your convenience, payment of annual dues with VISA, MasterCard or AMEX is acceptable. 
  • Payment by cheque or cash If paying by cheque or cash, please ensure completion of the appropriate section on the bottom of the invoice form.

Policy on Dues Abatement

Requests for waiver or deferral of annual dues must be made in writing to the Registrar. Normally, thirty-five percent of the fees payable should accompany the request; approval of the request will apply to the remaining sixty-five percent.

  • Unemployed Members Professional Members who are unemployed may be eligible for dues abatement. 
  • Maternity/Parental Professional Members on maternity or parental leave may be eligible for dues abatement.
  • Full-time Education Professional Members who are enrolled in full-time graduate or post graduate programs in engineering, geoscience, business, science, education, or other programs approved by PEGNL, may be eligible for dues abatement. 
  • Health/Disability Professional Members who, due to ill health or a disability, are not earning income from employment, may be eligible for 100% waiver. 

Permit to Practice (Company) Renewal Information

  • Dues Payable In November of each year, invoices are sent to all Permit to Practice Holders for the following calendar year. The Permit to Practice dues are payable within 60 days of the billing date. Please note that no other invoice will be issued. An assessment of 15% of fees payable will be charged following expiration of the 60 days following the date of issue of the invoice. A certified letter will be sent at the end of the 60-day period giving a further 30 days notice of removal for non-payment. Reinstatement after the current year will require payment of the current application fee of $220.

  • Renewal Update Appearing on the invoice/renewal form is the latest data on file regarding your Permit to Practice. Please review this information and complete as it applies to your firm. Please note that if the professional members accepting responsibility for a discipline(s) has changed, these members must complete and submit the Personal Profile Form, accompanied by a resume showing professional experience and/or a list of projects demonstrating experience in the discipline for which the member is accepting responsibility. All requests are reviewed by the PEGNL Board of Examiners.
