PEGNL’s Compliance Department engages individuals, companies or entities that use reserved titles, represent entitlement to practice, or practice engineering or geoscience within NL without a PEGNL licence or permit.
Upon becoming aware of a potential infraction, the PEGNL Compliance Department investigates.
If there is tangible evidence, a case file is opened and the individual or company is contacted. All cases are handled confidentially and objectively. The individual or company is informed of the infraction and advised how to come into compliance, within a suitable timeframe. To ensure objectivity, the department may use consultants, legal counsel, internal staff and a committee of PEGNL volunteers from varying experiences, industries and disciplines.
