Call for Nominations re Election to PEGNL’s Board of Directors 2012-2013

 

The annual election of directors of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador will take place in May - June 2012. 

As PEGNL By-laws provide, a Nominating Committee is appointed to present nominations for election to the Board. PEGNL is now seeking nominations for the available positions on the Board of Directors: 

There are 12 Directors: nine elected directors who are elected professional engineers or geoscientists, and three public representatives, appointed by the Minister of Government Services. Three of the elected directors are executive directors, chair elect, chair and past chair. Six of the elected directors are non executive directors.

Of the current executive directors, Chair Elect William Hunt, P. Eng. will move to Chair, Chair Ray Gosine, P. Eng. will move to Past Chair, and Past Chair Darryl Benson, P. Eng, will conclude his term on the Board. A new Chair Elect will be required for 2012-2013.

For 2012-2013, four of the current non executive elected directors of the current directors of the Board will continue their terms, while two new non executive elected directors will be added as a result of this election.  

Non executive elected directors continuing are:

Jeff Card, P. Eng., Gordon Holden, P.Eng,. Rod Churchill, P. Geo.,  and Darlene Spracklin Reid, P. Eng.

Directors who will have completed their terms are:

Sean LaCour, P. Eng., Carl King, P. Eng, and Darryl Benson, P. Eng..

Director Positions to be filled are:

Chair Elect (1)

Non Executive Elected Directors with three year term (2), of whom one must be a non eastern resident director.

All PEGNL Members - P. Eng.,  P.Geo., EIT and GIT - are eligible to vote for any candidate. 

A professional member should submit nomination papers signed by at least three (3) members in professional good standing and comply otherwise with section 5.4 of By-Law #4.

In submitting nominations to the Board, the Nominating Committee must abide by all relevant By-Laws of PEGNL.
