New Leaders for the National Round Table on Sustainable Infrastructure

Chantal Guay, P. Eng., ing., M. Env., CEO, Engineers Canada

Reg Andres, P.Eng., Canadian Society of Civil Engineering (CSCE), and Ric Robertshaw, P.Eng., Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA) are the new co-chairs of the National Round Table on Sustainable Infrastructure.

The creation of the National Round Table on Sustainable Infrastructure was an initiative of the infrastructure community. The Round Table aims to be a 'go to' resource on infrastructure that is capable of advising stakeholders and filling the information gap to help decision-makers make good, sound decisions about infrastructure, and optimize their investment strategies. For this reason, leaders and experts of Canada's infrastructure community pooled their resources with the goal of developing the Round Table.

The vision for a round table is to foster a long-term, holistic approach to identify, develop and disseminate tools to address infrastructure sustainability issues. Consisting of working groups focused on infrastructure financing, innovation, smaller community infrastructure and national asset management, the bottom line is that the Round Table will work to benefit Canada's economy, environment and societal health.

"The Round Table is aligned with the federal government's identification of infrastructure as a priority issue," said Engineers Canada CEO Chantal Guay, P.Eng., ing., M.Env. "Infrastructure greatly impacts Canadians' health and safety, and I am confident that Reg Andres, P.Eng., and Ric Robertshaw, P.Eng., will be effective leaders of this very important initiative."
