December 2007

Volunteers Required

The National Engineering & Geoscience Committee is seeking volunteers in the St. John's area to help with the planning of National Engineering & Geoscience Week 2008.

This is a week-long event that will be held this year from March 1 - 9. Activities include the Bridge Building Competition for students from Grades 7 - 9, the Shaving Cream Tower Contest for ages 6 - 15, the Poster Contest for students from Grades K - 3, and the Wordsearch Contest for students in Grade 4 - 6.

Planning for this year's event has begun. Meetings are held on a bi-weekly basis until February where weekly meetings are held. A wrap-up meeting is then held after the event.

If you are able to volunteer some time for this exciting event, please contact Robert Woolgar, P. Eng., Co-Chair at rwoolgar@hatch.ca or Joan Fillier, NEGW Staff Liaison at jfillier@pegnl.ca.
