Marie Lemay Leaving Engineers Canada

Marie Lemay, P. Eng.

Following years of success with various initiatives, including the rebranding of the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers to Engineers Canada, Marie Lemay, P.Eng., ing., will be leaving the organization in January to assume the role of chief executive officer of the National Capital Commission.

Having been Engineers Canada's chief executive officer since July 2000, Ms. Lemay has played a pivotal role in the organization's success and growth. She ensured that Engineers Canada kept its communication channels with its members and stakeholders open; built closer relationships with university faculties and engineering students, and fostered collaboration with the federal government.

Through her leadership, Engineers Canada succeeded in pooling the engineering profession's expertise with that of external stakeholders to address issues such as immigration, climate change and the renewal of public infrastructure.

Engineers Canada's staff and Board congratulate Marie and thank her for her tireless dedication in serving the organization, its members and the engineering profession. Interested candidates for the position of Engineers Canada's chief executive officer are asked to contact Eric Lathrop, Partner, Ray & Berndtson at eric.lathrop@rayberndtson.ca or 613.742.3211
