President's Newsletter

In President Doug Goodridge's article, he congratulates the National Engineering and Geoscience Week Committee on another successful Week, and discusses three focus areas for PEG Council:  The PD Program review, membership engagement; and, an external linkage plan.

I first want to thank Rick Goosney, P.Eng. and his volunteer National Engineering and Geoscience Week (NEGW) Committee members.

2006 Engineers/Geoscientists Salary Survey

Read about the upcoming Member Salary planned by PEG, in partnership with the other three Atlantic Canadan engineering/geoscience associations.

PEG has contracted with Market Quest Research Group Inc. to complete another Member Salary Survey, with the intent to update data from a similar survey in 2003. This is a joint project with the other three Atlantic Canada engineering/geoscience associations in order to provide our members with current statistics on engineering and geoscience salaries in the Atlantic region.

PEG and NAA Renew JBOP Agreement

This article discusses the Joint
Board of Practice Agreement (JBOP) recently renewed by PEG and the Newfoundland Association of Architects (NAA).

The Newfoundland Association of Architects (NAA) is the licensing body for professional architects in Newfoundland and Labrador and regulates the practice of architecture in the same way that PEG does for engineering and geoscience. The close professional ties of Engineers and Architects in the building construction industry resulted in PEG and NAA entering into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in 1992 that established a Joint Board of Practice [JBOP].
