March 2006

2006 Engineers/Geoscientists Salary Survey

PEG has contracted with Market Quest Research Group Inc. to complete another Member Salary Survey, with the intent to update data from a similar survey in 2003. This is a joint project with the other three Atlantic Canada engineering/geoscience associations in order to provide our members with current statistics on engineering and geoscience salaries in the Atlantic region.

The salary survey will be completed as a quantitative telephone survey. Some 400 PEG members will be randomly selected and contacted by phone. Researchers will request that these members respond to survey questions in a 3-5 minute interview. The data received will be analyzed and a report will be prepared, published and made available to all members.

It is important to note that all data collected from individual members will be kept totally confidential and that Market Quest will not share that data with anyone. Only the aggregated data and survey statistics will be made available to the Associations and members.

The salary survey will be conducted beginning in mid-April and we plan to publish the survey report by July 2006. All PEG Members will be sent a letter in early April to formally advise them of the survey and to request their support.
