Water in the City Conference - September 17-20, 2006

The Water in the City Conference will be held in Victoria, BC and will present a broad, comprehensive picture of 'state of the art' approaches to water issues in urban and rural communities. Conference themes include:

  • Putting water 'front and centre' in community planning.
  • Conservation through demand management, re-use and recycling.
  • Wastewater and rainwater - problem or resource?
  • Watersheds - restoring nature's balance.
  • Featuring water as a 'quality of life' asset for communities.
  • Safe, sustainable water supplies and community health.
  • Issues of governance and new directions.

Water in the City will be of special interest to elected officials, planners, engineers, water managers, the development industry, community groups and others whose collective decisions shape our communities, large and small. Participants will gain a broad understanding of the directions we must follow as we address water issues in our 21st century communities.
