New Online Ethics Training Course for PEGNL License Holders

Today, Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador launched a new voluntary online ethics training course.

“We are extremely pleased to be moving forward with offering an online ethics training course to our license holders. This course is a way of refreshing your ethical practices while at the same time assisting with the fulfilment of the requirement for continuing professional development.”

-Geoff Emberley, CEO of PEGNL

The online ethics training module is now available on the PEGNL website at http://www.pegnl.ca/ProfessionalDevelopment/. License holders can follow the link which will require them to login to complete the module. The ethics training course takes approximately 40 minutes to complete.

The online ethics course can be completed in both 2017 and 2018. Once completed, license holders may print a certificate and claim five professional development hours.

One of the prerequisites to obtaining professional licensure in Canada is successful completion of the National Professional Practice and Ethics exam. Subsequently, an ongoing requirement of licensure under the PEGNL Code of Ethics is ethical and professional conduct. This new resource provides PEGNL licensees with a quick refresher on our duties as self-regulated professionals.
